The tour operator Hauser Excursions International has a special target group. Hauser puts together travel packages for individual travellers who want a little something extra from their holidays. We were asked to design and produce a box that could function as a press folder and as a means of communicating travel catalogues and other information to an often very exclusive clientele. The box had to be able to accommodate all these different documents in various formats. Hauser also wanted everything from one source: concept, product design, printing, lamination, final assembly and delivery).

We designed and produced a box comprising a folder cover with four flutes and a cardboard pocket. Two of these flutes serve to close the cardboard pocket when the cover itself is closed.

There’s space for A4 documents, documents in postcard format, booklets containing press information, flyers detailing special tours and the comprehensive and quite heavy overall travel catalogue. The binder is flexible and can be used for trade fairs, in-house exhibitions at Hauser, press information and as a package for documents of sale.

The DUALLOCK – a plastic clasp – was chosen as the closing mechanism. It functions like Velcro except that it doesn’t “fray”. This ensures that the box still closes effectively even after long use and maintains its neat appearance.

The bright exterior design has the Hauser logo, a stone motif and the feature “Experiencing oneself and the world”. Well-suited thanks to matt film lamination and pleasant to the touch as well.
