| Instead of the conventional book form, the German Weather Service (Deutsche Wetterdienst) wanted to bring out its “Weather Atlas” project in a flexible and supplementable ring binder format. |
| Solution |
| A ring binder was produced in a large format to accommodate the A3 content (e.g. maps of Germany with climatic zone and temperature variation diagrams etc.). The printed material with the DWD corporate design were given a hard-wearing surface using Achilles Polylein® lamination and, as part of its Full Service program, Achilles also inserted all the content pages in the finished binder. In order to ensure that the ring mechanisms remain undamaged when shipped with all content pages inserted, the binders were equipped with simple but effective “ring mechanism transport protectors”. |
