| Heidelberger Print Machines wanted us to design and produce a work/presentation folder for their external sales staff. Shown to existing and potential customers and, in some cases, handed over permanently, this folder contains Heidelberger’s “communication package”: the consultation given to printing houses on the subject of marketing and suggestions for advertising campaigns. It consists of unpunched documents, CDs and a “Technology by Heidelberg” campaign label. |

Heidelberger’s customers are printing houses who, being professionals, have a good eye for quality workmanship in printed products. The folder contains material to which the general manager of a printing house or the sales & marketing staff need long-term, regular access. With this in mind, the folder was designed as an inwards-opening multi-part binder with a 4-ring mechanism and velcro opening/closing system. Sales reps can transport and present the communication package easily, and it sits on the customer’s shelf as tidy and compact as a box.
In terms of functionality, we concentrated on what it was that the binder had to communicate to the customer and the form or rather format of this message. There are two CD pins on the binder’s inside front cover, the 4-ring mechanism and page retainer secure the printed contents and a transparent film (Priplak pocket) on the binder’s inside back cover accommodates the campaign label with the Heidelberg logo. |
