The world in the grip of football fever - especially in Germany. 2006 Football World Cup!

In addition to the IT and organisational staff, over 15 000 volunteers needed training for the FIFA 2006 World Cup in Germany. To ensure that everything ran smoothly, the plan was to provide these staff with training folders. Considering the event’s importance, FIFA of course emphasised the fact that the supplier of the FIFA World Cup folders would have to accept the responsibility of meeting exact deadlines and producing quality that was first class in every respect.
The FIFA organisation committee decided on Achilles Presentation Products to supply the training folders for the 2006 World Cup. FIFA was certain that with us as a market leader the assignment would be executed perfectly and using the best possible technology. Thanks to the diversification and depth of our production capacity we, the Achilles Group, were able to offer the complete product “from a single source”; a service which included the print in the FIFA World Cup design, matt film lamination and full manufacture of the ring binders.

The trust placed in us back then was justified. Everything was ready on time and in the desired quality, and subsequently presented to Franz Beckenbauer’s organisation committee in a hand-over ceremony
When Reinhold Beckmann, moderating the Italy/France final, stressed that “it was an excellent performance from this World Cup’s organisation committee – everything went smoothly”, and when, responding in an interview with ZDF’s Gerhard Dilling to the question of how he and his organisation committee had managed to “communicate everything” right down to the last volunteer, Franz Beckenbauer replied “We trained every single one of the 15 000 volunteers”, it made our Achilles team proud to have made a contribution with our training folders.

Here are some examples of the products Achilles designed and produced for the 2006 Football World Cup. Prior to the World Cup, Wekre Publishers had given Achilles an order for a range of products carrying the DFB (German Football Association) licence. These products (sporting the German national team motif as shown on our home page and under “Publishers (Publishing houses) and licence holders” on our “Industries” page) have been available in retail shops for some time. We also designed an interesting introductory folder for guests for the Schloss Hotel in Grunewald/Berlin where the German national team stayed during the World Cup.

The World Cup cities profiled themselves at World Cup conferences with presentation products we designed.
